I registered my copy of Easy Pool 2008. Now what do I do? After you register Easy Pool 2008, you will be given a
license key. Enter this key into the registration/license box that first
appears when you run Easy Pool. After you enter the code and run the
program for the first time, the box will not appear again.
I bought Easy Pool last year. Do I need to upgrade this year?
All previous licensed
users need to upgrade to Easy Pool 2008 if you wish to use the
online services Easy Pool offers. This means if
you want to download the starting teams on Selection Sunday, or import
picks using NetPick.NET, you will need to purchase Easy Pool 2008.
Your old version of Easy Pool will still work this year, you just won't
be able to use the online services.
If I purchase Easy Pool this year, will it work for next years
tournament?
Easy Pool 2008 will continue to work for the 2009 tournament, however,
if you wish to use the online services, you will need to upgrade to the
current years edition.
How does Easy Pool handle the 65 team format?
The "play in" game, or opening round game will be played on Tuesday.
This game will not be factored into the Easy Pool scoring system.
When the 65 teams are announced on Selection Sunday, the 64th and 65th
teams are treated as a single team. The downloadable starting teams
grid will show "Team 64 / Team 65" in the appropriate bracket. This will
allow you to generate netpick files and start importing files before this
game is even played.
After the Tuesday game is played, the starting teams grid can be edited to
show the winning team.
When will you post the 2008 Starting Teams template?
We will post the 2008 Starting Teams Grid on Selection
Sunday, March 16th, at 7:45PM Eastern.
Does it cost my players to use the NetPick.NET website?
NetPick.NET is a free website for your pool players to
use. All they need to do is make their selections at NetPick.NET,
save the pik file the website generates, and then email that pik file to
you, the pool administrator. Remember, you must be using Easy Pool
2008 in order to import those pik files.
Does Easy Pool automatically update the College Games winners?
Easy Pool does not update the college game winners.
You, being the pool administrator, should follow the games as they are
played and select the winners on the Main Tournament Grid.
How can I see who everyone in my pool picked to be
in the Final 4?
A new feature we've added is called PickScan.
From here you can generate a complete list of everyone's picks all the way
throughout the tournament. You can save this report as an HTML file
or a text file. Click Pool, then select PickScan.
Can I add upset points for different rounds?
Upset points can be assigned to the first round games.
Click Pool, Points Setup. By default the upset points option is turned
off. You have the option of selecting upset points by seed
differential or fixed points.
Do I have to use the default settings for the scoring of different
rounds?
You can select whatever point structure you like for
your pool. Click Pool, Points Setup and change the settings to what
works for your pool.
What website do I send my players to so they can make their picks?
Have your players go to
http://www.netpick.net and make their tourney selections. After they
have finished with their selections, they will be prompted to save their
picks to their own computer. Once they do this they can then email
their picks to you, the pool administrator. You can then import
these picks into Easy Pool 2008.
How do my players get their picks back to me since I'm the one with
Easy Pool 2008 and I'm running the pool? What do they need to do?
Once your players have made their picks on the NetPick.NET site, they
will be prompted to save their picks to their own computer. They can
then send this pik file, as we like to call it, to you as an email
attachment.
Some of my pool participants say they don't see any teams
listed on NetPick.Net.
All they see are blank tiles on the grid with no team names.
You MUST USE INTERNET EXPLORER 5.0 or higher to use NetPick.NET.
If you use another browser such as Firefox or Netscape, the team names
won't be displayed. All you will see are blank team name tiles.
Tell your players they MUST USE INTERNET EXPLORER TO SUBMIT PICKS USING
NETPICK.NET.
Will Easy Pool run a Sweet 16 pool?
No, Easy Pool is designed to run a single pool
for the 64 team tournament.
